Pune, Nov 11 Pune-based National Insurance Academy has witnessed completion of 100 per cent placements for its PGDM Batch 2020-22 in a record time of one single day called Day Zero with enthusiastic corporate participation, signing off a season of placements despite the worldwide COVID pandemic challenge.

This year 35 companies participated in the placement process. The highest international compensation offered is 29.5 LPA. Whereas the highest domestic compensation offered is 27 LPA. The average salary of the batch went up to 10.3 LPA. The average compensation is increased by 35 per cent as compared to last year. Around 28 per cent of the batch is placed by Pre-Placement Offers. As more as six new companies participated in the final placements.

NIA's PGDM programme is approved by AICTE, accredited by NBA and has MBA equivalence by AIU. The course is specialised in insurance and management. NIA is a premium institution in training, education, research, consultancy and publication in the filed of insurance and allied sectors.

Talking to Bizz Buzz, a spokesperson of the institute said, "Since our inception of PGDM course, we ae having 100 per cent placement."

NIA was established in 1980 jointly by the Finance Ministry, LIC, GIC Re, New India Assurance, National Insurance Company, United India Insurance and Oriental Insurance Company on 16th December, 1980 in Mumbai to be the institute of excellence in learning and research in Insurance, Pension and allied areas. The Academy was shifted to Pune on 4th June, 1990 with the state-of-the-art facilities for learning and research.

Initial years of NIA were dedicated to Management Development Programmes catering to the insurance industry professionals to enhance the management skills and do main expertise. Later, the two year Post Graduate Diploma in Management course was initiated to fulfil the growing demand of skilled professionals in Insurance and Risk Management. The programme offers dual expertise in management and Insurance.
